Malaysia Airlines Adds Third Daily Flight on Sydney-Kuala Lumpur Route: Starting October 2025, Malaysia Airlines will operate a third daily flight between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur, increasing its annual capacity on the route to over 630,000 seats—the highest for any Australian airport. The new service (MH251/MH250), operated by an Airbus A330-300, will start arriving in Sydney from 30 August 2025.This expansion follows the increase in air rights between Australia and Malaysia, with capacity for Malaysian carriers rising from 36,000 to 50,000 weekly seats in late 2024, and unlimited capacity set for 2026.Sydney Airport CEO Scott Charlton praised the airline and government, noting the airport has added over two million seats in the past year. Minister Catherine King highlighted the role of expanded air service agreements in boosting tourism and global connectivity.
Adelaide to Host 2026 Australian Tourism Exchange: Tourism Australia has announced that the 2026 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE26) will be held in Adelaide/Tarntanya from 10–14 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre. This marks the first time since 2018 that Adelaide will host the country’s largest tourism trade event. Thousands of delegates from around Australia and the world will attend. Tourism Australia and the South Australian Tourism Commission aim to showcase the region’s unique tourism offerings, from world-class wine and food to natural attractions and luxury stays.
